I have been writing again! For more detials just clicky the linky...
So, as you may know (see previous post if you don't) I lost my cat on the day of the Aurora Theater shootings. It was a bad bad day all around. And just as I was starting to get back in the writing game, my office had another round of layoffs (yeah, another one, this makes eight). The upshot of this newest set of layoffs is that I have transitioned back to the front desk. I started at my job ten years ago as the receptionist. I slowly took on more and more project work until I was able to move off the front desk and into a project assistant role. This new move isn't a complete step backwards - I get to keep all my project work and just add back in a lot of the front desk duties. Yay? Anyhoo, my time has been even tighter lately.
With that in mind, I'm seriously (possibly insanely) considering doing NaNo this year. I've tried and failed a few times in the past, but I think this year it would be good for me to try again and focus on the dicipline and not the words. I have a habit of obsessively counting words during NaNo, LOL, not conducive to good writing. If I try, it'll mean no posting in November but, yeah, it's not like I've been posting anyway. And if I DO manage to finish (or even get close), I'll have something like 30 chapters for you. I could get back to posting 3 or 4 times a week! I really like the sound of that. What do you think? Should I give it a go? Will you still come back if it takes me another two months to post anything? I gotta say, this season of Doctor Who has really gotten me inspired to keep going.

Date: 2012-10-02 06:31 am (UTC)But YAY for Nano - yes, I think you should focus on the writing and not the word count, and just plan to write a little something every day. And I will faithfully beta it as soon as you send it - or rather read it through & make sure you didn't miss any typos ;p
