I know I left y'all on an evil cliffie but I can't post this week. It's my last few days at the job I've had for 14-1/2 years (plus Christmas looming) and I just can't. I'M SO SORRY! I will post extra chapters after Christmas to make up for it, I swear.

Hullo my darlings!

First off, let me say if I never have another month like January, I will count myself very lucky. Waaaaaay too many people I love had major surgery, were diagnosed with major health issues, and/or died. Seriously. I lost two very good friends (to pancreatic cancer and liver failure) in the space of a few days. Add to that the stress at work of merging with an out-of-state firm and you have a good idea of why there's STILL no new chapters up.

On the bright side, my friend who had major surgery came thru it with flying colors and got some encouraging news about her recovery from her doctors. Another friend has surgery scheduled and it should 100% improve her situation. And I still have a job... for the moment... kidding... I hope.

So I plan to buckle down and get back to the routine I set at the beginning of the year. I'm listening to my Jack & Ianto playlist RIGHT NOW to get me in the mood to write when I get home.

And that's the State of the Button!

So... um... well, first of all HAPPY NEW YEAR! As you may have guessed from the complete LACK of posting in December, NaNoWriMo did NOT go well for me this year. But I don't count it as a total loss since I did get back into the groove of writing again - even if the words were mostly un-useable.

SO, this is my plan for 2016:

Take my lunch break at work (this will be a good thing for many reasons)
Write on my lunch break OR read my book
Write when I get home until roomie gets home
IF I wrote at lunch, I can read before bed (if I read at lunch, I write before bed)
If I'm not knitting during nite-time TV-time, then I'm editing Vizzini's Rule and eventually To The Pain for AO3 posting
Get a nice cache of chapters written and beta'd before I start posting
Post regularly with NO MORE BREAKS!

I really want to finish my canon-verse this year. I've decided it just has to be a priority or it's never gonna happen.

So that's my plan. I hope y'all will come back soon and see how I'm doing.

I'm almost ashamed to be posting, it's been so long! :( I just wanted to say that I'm attempting NaNo again this year in the hopes that some structure and a solid goal will get me back into my fic after Real Life killed all my mojo recently.

So wish me luck and hopefully I'll see you in December with more chapters!

I just looked at my posts and I am truly, truly ashamed of how long I've been gone! I SWEAR to you that I'm still writing and that I will finish The Sea After the Storm. I actually signed up for NaNo again this year as a kick in the pants to get this thing done!

I'm not sure if anyone is out there anymore, but I'm still gonna keep posting and hoping at least one person is still reading. I'll check back with you soon! I won't start posting until after NaNo is over, but I will say that I have 10 new chapters finished so far (since my last posting, LOL, not since I started NaNo a few hours ago) and I hope to have way more than that by the time November shuffles off.

Hello all my darling dears!

I swear to All The Powers That Be that I'M NOT DED!

thraceadams can testify that I actually sent her some new chapters that finish up "Adam" and that I've started on the next section. I'm hoping the summer dearth of television will inspire me to new heights of creativity and get my ass in front of my computer more!! I also had a hankering to write the next Season in my 50's Alternate Universe. Clearly the bunnies are biting. :)

In the meantime, I'm making a Jack & Ianto playlist... any ideas for songs? I'd love to hear what music inspires Janto thoughts in you!

Hello all you wonderful darlings! I just wanted to pop by to wish everyone who's participating in NaNo a hearty "GOOD LUCK!" and a "YOU CAN DO IT!" While I won't be participating since my particular writing style does not lend itself to NaNo (in fact, the two combined bring on epic levels of stress and self-loathing, not of the good), I WILL be using this time and all y'all as motivation to keep pounding away at The Sea After a Storm. I have a tentative goal in my head to start posting again by Thanksgiving, but don't hold me to that! :)

I found some lovely inspirational writing pics on Buzzfeed today, so I'll be posting them throughout the month to keep everyone go-go-going on NaNo!
